Lanzarote from the air, with no engine and no window in the way
A tandem paragliding flight over the Famara cliffs: 600 metres of ridge, the whole beach below you, La Graciosa straight ahead and nothing to hear but the wind. No experience needed. You walk a few steps beside your pilot and the wing does the rest.

It isn’t a jump. It’s a flight.
The wing is already open before you leave the ground. You walk forward a few steps as it inflates and within seconds your feet are off the ground. No free fall, no stomach-drop.
Up there it’s calm: the wind hits the cliff, is deflected upwards and holds the wing, so you glide along the coast rather than sink. You get the black lava, the white villages, fifteen kilometres of beach and, on clear days, La Graciosa and the whole Chinijo Archipelago.
You land back at the launch site with your pilot talking you through it. Allow an hour and a half to two hours from start to finish, including travel, kitting up and the flight.

Includes your certified pilot, tandem wing, harness, helmet and the pre-flight briefing. Prices are per person and each of you flies with your own pilot, so two of you means two flights, and you can film each other from the ground.
Seven launch sites, and the wind picks
There are seven flying areas across the island and each works with a different wind direction: Risco de Famara (the one in the photos: a 600-metre cliff facing La Graciosa), Mala, La Asomada / Mácher, Playa de Órzola, La Graciosa, Tenésar and Playa Quemada. That’s why your meeting point is confirmed in the days before, once the forecast is reliable, rather than when you book.
Flying happens all year. Spring and autumn give the steadiest conditions; in summer the trade winds usually deliver excellent flights. It’s the day that counts, not the month, so don’t book it for your last afternoon: leave a spare day and you won’t miss out.
Practical note: several sites are a good hour’s drive from Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen. With Jaira Rent a Car you get 10% off using the code VISITLANZAROTE. Hire your car →
