All corners of this beautiful island offer a range of great beaches. Playa Blanca has popular well used beaches and some hidden gems that many visitors fail to find, we’ve put together a brief guide to some of these beaches.
Playa Blanca
Literally, the «white beach» from which Playa Blanca takes its name. A small but perfectly formed sandy beach that nestles in the small bay of the town centre just a few meters from shops, bars and restaurants. There’s easy access onto the beach and the water is reasonably shallow making it suitable for all ages and abilities.
Playa Dorada
East of Playa Blanca town centre, just a short walk along a beautiful promenade you’ll find Playa Dorada. A golden sandy beach, with clear shallow water located just in front of the Princesa Yaiza Hotel and close to shops, bars and restaurants with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. As well as being popular for relaxing and topping up your tan, this beach also offers an array of watersports to keep the whole family occupied. There is free parking available just outside the Princesa Yaiza hotel.
Playa Flamingo
Located to the West of Playa Blanca town centre this is another ideal beach for families, with white sand and calm water is perfect for relaxation. There are restaurants, bars, shops and hotels nearby with ample parking available.
Just 3.6Km from Playa Blanca and located within the Los Ajaches National Park (a protected area) the beaches and coves that make up Papagayo are considered some of the most beautiful on the island. There is a small fee per car of 3€ including occupants to gain entry to the park.
Playas de Papagayo
The main beach Papagayo is a pristine white sandy beach with calm waters, a must when visiting Lanzarote. The beach is 120 meters long and you can enjoy the views with great local and international cuisine from the Chiringuito (restaurant) located at the top of the hill.
Playa de la Cera
105 meters of golden sand and calm waters, great for families. Simply park at Papagayo, turn right and head on foot following the path to the beach.
Playa de Puerto Muelas
A popular beach with 130 meters of soft golden sand, generally slight breeze and calm waters are the charm of this beach, parking is available.
Playa Mujeres
A soft sandy beach with amazing clear water is 395 meters long and offers a relaxing environment, parking is available.
