Every week someone drives up to the Fire Mountains with the whole day ahead of them and turns back without getting in. Not because it is full: because the ticket is sold online only, with a date and a time slot, and that slot had already closed.
The seven art, culture and tourism centres belong to the island’s council. We do not sell their tickets and we earn nothing from them. We recommend them because they are the best thing Lanzarote has, and because nobody explains properly how they work.
The short answer
There are seven: Fire Mountains (Timanfaya), Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes, Cactus Garden, Mirador del Río, Castillo de San José (MIAC) and the Casa Museo del Campesino. Bought separately they add up to €87.40 per adult. Two of them — Timanfaya and Cueva de los Verdes — are sold online only, with a fixed date and time. There is no combined pass: CACT’s own FAQ states that it no longer offers multi-centre vouchers.

Prices, visit lengths and opening hours taken from the official CACT website on 15 September 2026. They are set by the island council and can change, so check before you buy. All seven open 365 days a year and children aged 0 to 6 go free at every paying centre.
The one joint ticket that exists is for the Casa de los Volcanes museum, which is not included with Jameos del Agua: you add it as a combined option when buying online, and it is only valid alongside a Jameos ticket.

The two you have to buy before you travel
Timanfaya and Cueva de los Verdes. Entry is capped per time slot and sold online only. Turn up without a ticket and you do not get in — there is no ticket desk to rescue you. In peak season the mid-morning slots disappear days in advance.

The order matters more than the budget
The island is 60 kilometres long and the centres are spread from one end to the other. Doing them in the wrong order costs two hours of driving nobody wants to pay for. They group themselves into two days:
The northern day. Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes are five minutes apart: always the same day. Carry on up to the Mirador del Río, then take the Cactus Garden on the way back, since it sits right on the road at Guatiza. That is €43 per person and a full day.
The centre and the capital. Timanfaya early in the morning — the low light across the Islote de Hilario is nothing like the midday version — the free Casa Museo del Campesino as a stop on the way, and the Castillo de San José late afternoon in Arrecife.

If you can only choose three
Timanfaya, because there is nothing comparable in Europe. Jameos del Agua, because it is where you suddenly understand what Manrique was doing with lava. And the Mirador del Río, if you get a clear day: you can see the whole of La Graciosa from up there, which tends to become the following day’s excursion.
One detail that changes the visit: all seven are the work of the same man. Whoever designed the Jameos designed the Mirador, the Cactus Garden and the Campesino. Once you know that, they stop being seven separate stops and become a tour of a single mind. The full story is in our page on César Manrique and in our guide to the tourist centres of Lanzarote.
What nobody tells you
Without a car, this does not happen. Public transport covers the Arrecife–Puerto del Carmen–Playa Blanca line. Almost all the centres sit outside it. The airport is 15 minutes from Puerto del Carmen, 20 from Costa Teguise and 35 from Playa Blanca; Playa Blanca to Órzola, at the northern tip, is 75 minutes each way. With a car the northern day fits comfortably. Without one, it does not fit at all.
Jameos at night is a different plan. The concerts in the auditorium are among the most distinctive things on the island and appear on no must-see list. Check the events calendar against your travel dates before you book anything.
Timanfaya is not a full day out. Ninety minutes inside leaves your afternoon free, and that is where most people run out of plan. La Geria, the vineyards in volcanic craters, is the natural follow-on.

How we would do it
If you are here for fewer than five days, do not attempt all seven. Pick three, book them with a fixed date, and spend what is left on the island in between, which is half the trip.
And if you are staring at the map with no idea where to start, this is exactly what we do for free: tell us your dates, how many of you there are and what you enjoy, and someone on our team who lives here sends back a day-by-day itinerary — real driving times, what to book before you fly, where to eat — within 24 to 48 hours.
