The particular landscape in Lanzarote makes the ideal scenery for Geology Training by the European Space agency, Lanzarote is bringing together a team of 4 space agencies and 18 organizations who will make scientific experiments on the geology of Lanzarote with the intention of studying new tools and sampling techniques for exploring other planets in our solar system.
This year, the part of the Pangea program developed in Lanzarote has as its main focus the exploration of the Moon. «From 3D models to geological analysis in the field and robotic teleoperations, this is the most realistic way to prepare to return to the Moon,» says Francesco Sauro, scientific director of the test campaign, in a report published by the European Space Agency
