A day at the Marina Rubicon Market in Playa Blanca
Towards the south of the Island is the town of Playa Blanca – just a 20 minute drive from Puerto del Carmen and 30 minute drive from Costa Teguise approx 37km. Playa Blanca is home of the Marina Rubicon where the market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday.
The Marina Rubicon Market offers many local souvenir stands, local wines, cheese, and many other vendors that provide a wide variety of products to choose from. In addition, there are a variety of designer outlet shops offering clothing, handbags, shoes and the usual perfume shops. There are a couple of small boutiques and art galleries/shops dotted about too.
The marina is the perfect place to relax and chill out, surrounded by a wide range of bars, restaurants offering local or international cuisine, you’ll love taking in the atmosphere! You can even walk to the the nearby re-inaugurated Rubicon Commercial center, or take part in the many other activities such as rental of sailing boats, deep sea fishing tours, and water-sports which can be arranged in the Marina at very competitive prices.
